TERRY TIPTON WINS USRA MODIFIEDS MAIN EVENT AT SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO SPEEDWAY
It was the return of the USRA Dirt Modifieds, Super Trucks, USRA Street Stocks, and the CDM Late Models.
The CDM Late Models come out for their main event, and that was good!! Cliff Hansen would hold on early but Garrett Alberson would get by. Jimmy Ray would try to get him but it wouldn't happen. Dave Deetz was running a top 3 until he spun a car and went to the back. In the restart Jimmy would pick the bottom, one of a few cars getting good traction in the bottom. Garrett would get away and won once again. He had a clean sweep weekend.
The USRA Street Stocks main was a good show. Chem Station added an extra $100.00 to any driver who starts 14th or beyond back and wins the main. So the birthday boy Donavon Flores was the only car starting 14th or beyond back.
The green waves and Brandon Cruse will get to an early lead. Jason Zeihl and Noah Hollingshead will give him something to worry about. Flores will move to 4th. BUT he won't pass them. Well Donavon was only running on 7 cylinders. As one broke, so a new winner to victory lane, The "Cruse Missile" Brandon Cruse!!
The Super Trucks will have a 20 lap main event. The 77 year old Sherman Barnett will be on the pedal after winning in El Paso, trying to get a clean sweep weekend. Kenny would pass him for the lead. They would spread out and Kenny Alons would get the win.
In the Modifieds, it was a good one. The green waved and later in the race Terry Tipton would show the way. Doctor Tom Georges came close to getting that win but failed to get it. Christy Georges ran 3rd, Jimmy Ray 4th.
