Military Night wins go to Ives, Ziehl, Barnett, Wofford

Active military and retired military got their night at the Southern New Mexico Speedway, and we made it a night to remember for them. It was the return of the ASCS 305 Winged Sprint Cars, USRA X-mods, USRA Street Stocks, and the Hornets.

The Hornets put one heck of a show as it was a Benny Pena show at first until Ben Ives worked him self up to the lead, later four cars would go for lead! Ben would show them how it was done though, as Ben Ives would win the main event.

In the USRA Street Stocks the past two weeks Jason Ziehl was super fast and so close to winning a main event. Tonight Jason knew he would have to get to the front quickly. Jason Ziehl had a super fast race car to get on front and beat everybody by half a track!!

The USRA X-mod main event was quick with Sherman Barnett on top. Once Sherman took the lead it was hard to take away. It's like trying to take away a bone from a dog. Sherman Barnett would win the USRA X-mod main event, his first at the Southern New Mexico Speedway in 2014.

Royal Jones who looked like he had it done in the history books in tonight's main event for the ASCS 305 Winged Sprint Cars didn't happen. Wes Wofford created a new strategy as he would smash the gas entering the turns and then would slam on the brakes in the middle of the turns so his car would slide up the race track to crate a slide job. Wes completed four slide jobs, and got to the lead over Royal with six laps to go. Wes would be in a different zip code until "Full Attention" Kyle Sager came through the field like a hot knife through butter. Kyle Sager was super fast and was coming for Wofford. "Full Attention" Kyle Sager would close the gap between him and Wes Wofford quickly, but time was not Kyles friend. Wes Wofford would win for the second time this season.
