Carney Prevails in Round Two

John Carney II takes the checkers in round two of the 305 Sprint Shootout presented by Interstate Batteries. Eighty-six cars accumulated within the Lucas Oil POWRi 305-Winged Sprint Cars, American Documents & Dent Works Super Trucks, Mini Sprints, Sun Valley Hardware USRA Stock Cars, and Casa Nissan Legends of the Southwest. Fans filled the stands as the place was Interstate Batteries electric!

Seventeen American Documents & Dent Works Super Trucks checked in for battle. Oodie Black set the front row with Don Kleine. Three wide to four wide racing all the way around started the twenty-lap feature. Todd Froats took the lead early setting authority early. A caution would fly on lap four for Don Kliene around in turn two. Froats would get back to work with Brian Kliene and Rusty Bowen battling hard for the runner-up. A caution would fly on lap seven gluing the field back together. On the restart Bowen and Kleine were hot! With five laps to go Kliene would snatch the lead! Kleine would make it a beefy lead to take the cheeker flag.

Back-to-back dominating performances put on by Spencer Hill as he would lead from flag to flag with the Mini Sprints. Mason Keefer would try some moves on Hill a couple times but couldn’t pass Hill. The Albuquerque, New Mexico racer takes the 305 Sprint Shootout presented by Interstate Batteries hardware back up north.

Donavon Flores got the broom as he clean sweeps the weekend with the Sun Valley Hardware USRA Stock Cars. Lloyd Turner and Craig Rice would establish the front row of the twenty-lap feature. Turner lead the opening three rounds until a caution flew on lap three four for Jed Smith spinning in turn two after a chain reaction from Jimmy Ray and Mark Morris. Lloyd Turner would have the 1957 Chevy rolling smooth tonight as he jumped back to the front. Donavon Flores would start eleventh after a rough heat race and worked his way to second on lap nine with a caution following. On the restart Lloyd Turner would lead one lap with Flores trying top and bottom to get to the lead. Flores would find clear sailing ahead as he took the lead on lap eleven. Flores would reach lapped traffic on lap fourteen, but not stopping him from dominating the Sun Valley Hardware USRA Stock Car feature to go back-to-back.

A healthy twenty-one field of Casa Nissan Legends checked in in night two of the 305 Sprint Shootout presented by Interstate Batteries. Joshua Jackson would lead early with a caution flying on lap three. Jackson lead another four laps with Dave Smith, Eli Woody, battling close behind. Caution number two would fly on lap seven for Teddy McCutcheon stopped in the exit of turn two. At the restart the caution era began. The yellow flew for Dave Smith loose collection the 1i of Daniel Blaeser who was charging with Dylan Harris deep from the field. Blaeser looked like the only car who was able to stop Harris tonight, but Blaeser would have to go to the back of the field. On the restart Dylan Harris would jump to the lead and never be touched again. Four more cautions flew but officials would call it as the Legends reached their time limit. Dylan Harris also dominates the 305 Sprint Shootout presented by Interstate Batteries with the Casa Nissan Legends.

Twenty-nine Lucas Oil POWRi 305-Winged Sprint Cars checked in for an exciting round two of the 305 Sprint Shootout presented by Interstate Batteries. Brandon Schure redeemed himself from not making the feature in night one to starting on the pole position in round two. Art Quijano would start outside row one. At the start Schure gassed his 21tx to a strong lead with Wes Wofford jumping to second quickly. Lap four called for a caution for Jon McDaniel on top of turn four. On the restart another caution flew for both Lorne and Wes Wofford over one and two! Both Woffords would have to tag the back. Schure would shave another lap off until the third caution flew for Jake Bubak looping it in front of your field in turns one and two. On the lap five restart Brandon Shure would lead two laps until John Carney II would steel the spotlight on lap seven. Carney would take off with lapped traffic getting heavy on lap thirteen giving Brandon Schure a door opening. John Carney the II wouldn’t let lapped cars slow him down as he would gas the J2 to a victory lane in round two of the 305 Sprint Shootout presented by Interstate Batteries.
